Keyring watches were a fad in the 1950s and ’60s, but haven’t been seen much since. Enter Volan, a new brand that’s reviving the style with mechanical watches meant to be worn on your keychain. The Volan Type One is inspired by vintage racing gauges and features a glossy white or black dial with Super-LumiNova indices, a bright red minute hand and a 6:00 crown. The watch is powered by the dependable Swiss-made Sellita SW200 automatic caliber, which is visible through a sapphire caseback. Surrounding the watch’s polished steel case is an outer case in black rubber styled like a tire for the black dial, or a wooden bumper inspired by Riva yachts and made of real teak wood for the white watch. Both versions are water-resistant to 50m and are priced at $933.
